Review of the Lucinda Williams CD Sweet Old World by Clyde Lee Dennis

Lucinda Williams, the richly talented Rock artist has released her latest CD titled Sweet Old World and Wow! It’s really a good one.

Lucinda Williams has been a super star in the Rock genre for quite a while now and Sweet Old World is an excellent illustration as to why.

Sweet Old World has a pleasantly varied, mix of 12 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly superb artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are her own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here.

Overall Sweet Old World is excellent from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must have for the Rock fan. Really sensational from beginning to end.

While this entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 2 - Something About What Happens When We Talk, track 5 - Little Angel, Little Brother, and track 12 - Which Will.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 12 - Six Blocks Away. Wow!

Really sweet romance?

No smut, please. Don't care too much for that.

I've suddenly become really interested in high school romance manga.
Ones like Fruits Basket and Strobe Edge, like, the romance isn't stated immediately and it's kind of innocently sweet.

Comedy doesn't hurt either.
[I absolutely hate manga that have girls beating up one girl for 'being too close' to the boy. I think it's annoyingly overused, so please don't point me to a manga with that.]

I also kind of like, realistic characters. Ones that you could actually relate to?

you should try "hoshi wa utau" (twinkle star) by the same author of fruit basket
"boku no hatsukoi wo kimi ni sasagu" really touches your heart *recommend*
"sensei" by kazune, kawahara *recommend*
"nodame cantabile" is great *recommend*
"library war" is very worth a read *recommend* ... although it isn't a high school romance
"kanata kara" (from far away) *recommend*
"clannad" is another recommendation. it's the saddest story ever, but with happy ending
arina, tanemura's "full moon wo sagashite", "kamikaze kaitou jeanne", "time stranger kyoko" and "shinshi doumei cross" (the gentlemen's alliance cross)
"alice 19th", "ima doki" by yuu, watase
"pretear" is an innocent sweet romance
"yume chu" (dream kiss), and some of the same author's manga are very nice. not only they're have innocence love, she also adds some comedy and romance into them
"zodiac p.i" and "maria ppoino" by natsumi, andou
"good morning call" is another nice one
"missile happy" and "prince x princess" by miki, kiritani
"saint dragon girl" by natsumi, matsumoto
"miracle girls" concentrates on twin, and "ultra cute" is another manga by the same author
"kodocha" (kodomo no omocha) is very realistic
"marmalade boy"
"baby love"
